Mr Kenny Galt


Kenny joined the team in June 2021 and has a BSc Hons Degree in Environmental Biology from the University of the West of Scotland. Prior to joining Galloway Fisheries Trust, Kenny spent 16 years with The Tweed Foundation working as their Trout & Grayling Biologist.

Kenny’s responsibilities within the Trust include electrofishing, water quality monitoring, river temperature monitoring and assisting in the delivery of habitat enhancement programmes. Originally from North Ayrshire, in his spare time Kenny enjoys football and fishing.

Completion of the Saving the Sparling Project - phase 1

Smolt sampling on the Bladnoch

GFT are presently sampling smolts caught in a fyke net at the inflow to Torhouse Fish Farm on the lower River Bladnoch. The fyke net also helps provide data on various other fish species within the Bladnoch catchment.
