Mrs Rowan McCleary


Rowan has a BSc Hons degree in Zoology from Glasgow University. After graduating in 2005, she spent a year working with the Forestry Commission before joining the Trust in December 2006.

Her key areas of responsibility include co-ordinating the Trust's education programme, fish counter work and working with DRAX on restoring the Kirkcudbright Dee. Office work aside, Rowan much prefers being outdoors and is a keen runner, often taking to the Galloway Hills with Fergus, her miniature schnauzer! Rowan is married with two sons, Corran and Angus.

Its insect week!

Riparian zones bridge the gap between land and river, creating an important habitat for insects while also providing shade and protection against erosion. We do a lot of habitat work mainly to help aquatic species like fish, but we are keen to monitor and understand the wider biodiversity benefits.
