Last weekend, GFT held two volunteer days on the Barhoise Burn, (Bladnoch Catchment) to build a watergate and fencing to exclude livestock from the burn. In early 2013, GFT carried out a habitat survey on the burn, which high lighted a stretch of burn that shown signs of potential suitable spawning and nursury habitat for Salmon and Brown trout. Previous volunteer days were carried out in this stretch of the burn to add rocks to enhance the instream habitat. The watergate and fencing erected exlude livestock from approximatley 500m of the burn.
